James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2011 Bethany Wines

Read James Halliday's comments on three of our wines in the lastest edition of the Australian Wine Companion 2011.

2006 Bethany GR11 Reserve Shiraz
Has retained good purple-red hue; a rich, opulent, yet well-balanced shiraz full of blackberry, plum and black cherry fruit, vanillan oak well suited and matched, the tannins ripe. Top-quality cork. Rating: 94 pts Drink 2016

2006 Bethany LE Shiraz
Good hue and clarity, still bright; a rich, supple medium to full bodied palate is full of blackberry and plum fruit with an innate sweetness, finishing with ripe tannins that dry the finish nicely. Particularly elegant new label and packaging. Screwcap. Rating: 92 pts Drink 2020

2009 Bethany Riesling Eden Valley
Bright straw-green; an intriguing bouquet of lime zest/lime pastille, the palate with similiar fruit flavours but in a tighter mold; plenty of overall falvour. Screwcap Rating: 93 pts Drink 2016
